Lead Editor
Mission: We’re building the most engaged digital audiences in the world.
The Role
The Lead Video Editor has exceptional skills in editing, but also in driving the team to success, ensuring we are not only providing first class edits for KOMI Studios, but also moving forward, pushing for new original content opportunities, and striving for better and excellence in everything they and the team are doing. A typical week will consist of 80% editing content, with 20% line management and support to the wider Studios team and leadership group.
You will create and edit engaging original content with strong storytelling, aligning content with industry trends and audience preferences. You will meet set targets for views, whilst taking an active part in daily huddles with your team, and working collaboratively to edit content.
You will also attend shoots for our Drama original content, working alongside a team of content producers to ensure our content is being captured suitably for the edit, and the storytelling is exactly what is needed to make yours and the team’s edits perform.
Key Responsibilities
- You will work to targets set by your line manager to increase productivity and output, ensuring daily, monthly and quarterly views targets are hit.
- You will manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is desirable to the audience and have a strong awareness of industry trends, always serving our brands and pages with what they are demanding and asking for.

- You will collaborate with the Platform Leads to ensure ideas are relevant and briefed clearly.
- You will equip your team of editors to manage their own edits and scheduling, with clear comms between you all on what is going out, ensuring they have full visibility over when to post, what is planned, and when the publishing dates are, via Monday.
- You will attend weekly Forensics meetings on rotation with your team of editors, discussing what is doing well and what can be improved. You will be key in organising your team’s workload and whereabouts, ensuring we are being smart and efficient and delegating tasks appropriately across the team.
- You will work with the Platform Lead and the other members of your team to provide oversee and guidance and quality controlling, to ensure we are adhering to brand/platform guidelines.
- You will provide cover and support across your team when there are absences by attending shoots, covering editing and chairing SO Forensics and OC sessions.
- You will maintain a strong team morale by fostering a positive work environment and recognising achievements.
What We Are Looking For
- You will have expert video editing and sound recording knowledge, especially within the Adobe Suite, offering learnings and insight on set to ensure the edit is always considered ahead of time, and you are provided with first class footage that can be edited with ease.
